Create your own original Valentine
(And impress your loved one!)
Cork Printmakers will be on the ground floor of Merchants Quay Shopping Centre on Saturday 13 February from 11am to 5pm encouraging members of the public to create a Valentine Card for their loved one in the traditional art of printmaking.
Participants will be able to scribe their own special Valentine image, ink up their plate and print their unique card on one of two mobile printing presses which will be on-site. Professional artist/printmakers will guide participants through every step of the process. Pre-cut lino blocks will be available for participants to press simple colourful shapes on their Valentine image. This is a workshop that is fun for all ages, and participants get to impress their loved one with a Valentine card uniquely made, with love!
Due to the downturn in the economy arts funding has been severely cut for all arts organisations. In response, Cork Printmakers has developed a number of fundraising events which will be rolled out in 2010, and any monies raised will be put directly back into our activities. Create your own original Valentine! print workshop will launch our year of fundraising events.
