Cork Culture Night
Cork Culture Night will take place on Friday 25 September. Cork Printmakers will open its doors from 6pm - 10pm, with a wide range of free events for the public. Booking is essential. Please call (021) 4322422 or email info@corkprintmakers.ie to book a place on a tour, workshop demonstration or seminar. Below is the timetable of activities:
Tour of Print Workshop: Artist members of Cork Printmakers will give 15 - 20 minute guided group tours of the workshop. Tours begin at 6pm and take place every half hour with final tour starting at 9.30pm.
Make a Print!: Experience drawing in drypoint using a scribe and roll up your sleeves to ink up and print your plate yourself. No previous experience necessary. Times: 6pm - 7pm & 8pm - 9pm (max 12 participants in each workshop)
An Introduction to Screenprinting: In these short demonstrations, participants get the opportunity to experience this versatile technique. Times: 6.30pm - 7.15pm & 8.30pm - 9.15pm (max. 15 participants in each demonstration)
How to Identify a Print?: Can you tell the difference between an etching and an engraving, or a lithograph from a charcoal drawing? These short seminars will help you recognise what to look out for when identifying a print and the technique used that created it. Times: 7pm - 7.30pm & 9pm - 9.30pm (max. 10 participants in each seminar)
Members' Exhibition: An exhibition of our members' work will be on view on the second floor print showroom. A 10% discount will apply on all artwork purchased during Culture Night.
